ProfitLink Consulting was hired by George Melhado & Company for a variety of Controller and staff accountant - level tasks. The company was undergoing a Cigarette Stamp Tax Audit, which was managed and conducted by one of the founders of ProfitLink Consulting. The efforts resulted in a Massachusetts D.O.R. assessment reduction of over $2 million. ProfitLink Consulting also facilitated the reconciliation of an Asset Purchase Agreement with the acquiring company's finance leadership team. The APA resulted in the closure of the company's Employee Stock Ownership Plan, which PLC coordinated issues of the final distributions to shareholders. ProfitLink's CEO, Chris McGlinchey, took a hands-on approach to ensure a successful closure for the client.
