Driscoll Electric utilizes the services of ProfitLink Consulting on a project by project basis. Initially, ProfitLink completed a thorough review of the company's books for FY2007. This included analysis of bank account reconciliations and balance sheet accounts, while evaluating the income statement for accuracy and reasonableness. After observing the day-to-day processes of the current accounting staff, ProfitLink Consulting was able to make necessary updates to the QuickBooks system, including the modification of the Chart of Accounts set-up. Suggestions for new accounting policies and procedures were then made and implemented. Further review of the client's needs posed an opportunity to implement a Job Costing model, whereby the payroll data entry process in QuickBooks was developed to book payroll data by job, creating the ability to generate accurate "P&L by Job" reporting. ProfitLink Consulting is also heavily involved in the system transition from QuickBooks to Timberline financial system. Driscoll Electric, founded in the early 1970's, performs work in all residential and commercial markets, specializing in high-end projects, including the hospitality segment. The company has locations in both Boston and Cape Cod.
